Technically it's a Robert W. Chambers connection, since he was the writer who actually wrote all the King in Yellow stories, and Lovecraft only mentions Hastur once as a throwaway aside in "Whisperer in the Darkness".

It absolutely does. I recommend checking out Chambers' horror stuff online. The copyright's expired so there's a few sites that host his entire works for free.
